DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department responded to an alarm call at the One Stop Mini Mart in Decatur.  Here is how they describe events and the arrest of one suspect:

 

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“On the morning of October 13, 2014 at 0327 hrs the Decatur Police Department responded to an alarm call at One Stop Mini Mart located at 308 W. Moulton Street NW. Ofc. Brad Haggard responded and observed that both doors of the business had been forced open by a vehicle. While Ofc. Haggard was still on the scene at One Stop Mini Mart, Ofc. Jacob Vest and Ofc. Tori Moseley responded to a suspicious person at 205 Gordon Drive SW and made contact with Sean Sharbutt. Officers observed a vehicle in Sharbutt’s yard that had a large amount of glass on the front of the vehicle. There were also several items inside of the vehicle that were linked back to the burglarized store.

Sgt. Clem was notified of the burglary and responded to the scene. Video surveillance placed both Sharbutt and his vehicle at the One Stop Mini Mart during the burglary. Sharbutt was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he was subsequently charged with one count of Burglary in the Third Degree. He will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $2,500.00 bond.”
