MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force Made a sizable drug bust from Sunday, October until Thursday, October 9th. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin describes the drug bust:
“The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force seized 29 Marijuana Plants and approximately 2 lbs. of loose Marijuana this week, October 5-9 2014, in the Somerville area of Morgan County, on Bluff City Rd. and Draper Rd.
On Sunday, October 5, 2014, Morgan County Deputies responded to a Domestic call at 197 Bluff City Rd. When Deputies arrived they smelled a strong odor of Marijuana coming from within the residence. Deputies also observed 2 small children, ages 2 and 4 at the residence. Drug Task Force Agents arrived on the scene and obtained a search warrant for the residence and located approximately 2 lbs. of Marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia items used in the sale and distribution of 
Marijuana within the residence. Subjects: Zackery Hughes (w/m 26), Alixandra Hughes (w/f 24), Ginger Goldthwaite (w/f 50) and Evan Goldthwaite were all arrested for the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree and transported to the Morgan County Jail.
Bond was set by Circuit Court Judge Howell in the amount of $30,000.00 each. Juvenile children were released into the custody of family members.
On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, the Morgan County Drug Task Force obtained a Search Warrant for the residence located at 1374 Bluff City Rd., this being the residence of Keith Monroe Hughes. Drug Task Force Agents executed warrant and located 9 Marijuana plants behind the residence and seized in total, 17 shotguns, rifles and handguns. Agents made contact with the same two small children, ages 2 and 4 from Sunday evening, October 5, 2014, within the residence. Morgan County DHR arrived on the scene and placed the children into Foster care. Keith Monroe Hughes (w/m 57) was 
arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st degree.
Bond was set by Circuit Court Judge Howell at $30,000.00.
Agents also made contact at the residence with Zackery Hughes and Alixandra Hughes. Zackery Hughes and Alixandra Hughes both were arrested and charged with Loitering in a Drug House, bond set at $1,000.00. All were transported to the Morgan County Jail.
On Thursday, October 9, 2014, the Morgan County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of ABC Narcotics Division, patrolled the skies of Morgan County, attempting to locate and eradicate Marijuana grows throughout the County. Drug Task Force Agents located a large Marijuana grow containing approximately 20 Marijuana plants and growing materials (cages and fertilizer) on Draper Rd. in wooded area along creek. The Morgan County Drug Task Force has a suspect, no charges have been made at this time, investigation is ongoing.
