Henry F. Norton, age 91, of Sheffield, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014. His family will receive friends Saturday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at York Terrace Baptist Church, Sheffield. He will lie in state from 1-2. Bro. Rodney Shewbart will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mr. Norton was a member of York Terrace Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon. He was retired from Sheffield Utilities and a veteran who served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette, his parents, six brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Norton Wilbanks (Don), grandchildren; Matthew Wilbanks (Emily), Michael Wilbanks (Erin) and great-grandchildren: Madilyn, Rachel and Steven Wilbanks.
Friends and Deacons of York Terrace Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to York Terrace Baptist Church.
