Roy Edward Smith age 67 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Smith was born January 31, 1947 in Limestone County to Bernard Carlos Smith Sr. and Floy Wales Smith.
Services for Mr. Smith are Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fords Chapel Cemetery with Everett Conn officiating.
He was a U.S. Veteran. He was also a member of the Post Office Union and Hays Mill Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Smith; daughter, Kelli King and husband Ben; mother, Floy Smith; brothers, B.C. Smith, Wayne Smith, Ricky Smith and Leonard Smith; sisters, Elaine Webster, Agnes Swaim, Terry Ganoe and Tammie Amesbury; grandchildren, Ezra King and Riley King.
Preceded in death by his father, Bernard Smith Sr.; granddaughter, Baylee King.
