Mickey Eugene “Dog” Grigsby, 59, of Florence, Alabama, passed away Oct. 7, 2014, at home. He was born Aug. 17, 1955, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenhill. He was a 1973 Rogers High School graduate. He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Grigsby.
Mickey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had many friends and was loved by all. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved the outdoors and his hunting “shack.” He loved his Harley and enjoyed organizing motorcycle rides and benefits and was always willing to help others. Mickey was a member of Florence Moose Lodge and was Moose Legionnaire Chairman for several years. He retired from Nafco/Tarkett in 2012 after 27 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rena; mother, Mary Ethel; sister Brenda; daughter, Amanda Yeates (Brad); son, Josh (Ashley); and four precious grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The “Life Celebration” will be Friday in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
