Douglas Windell Chandler Sr.,75, of Decatur passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. Visitation will be

today, from 4 to 7 p.m. with services Monday, October 6, 2014, at 10 a.m., both of which will be at Roselawn Funeral Home with burial at Roselawn Mausoleum. Doug’s friend, Charles Wilks will be officiating.

Doug was a member of Beltline Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and put God and his family above himself. lmmediately after high school he joined the Marine Corp. with an honorable discharge in 1959. Doug

began working for Amoco Chemical in 1959 at the Joliet, lllinois plant. Since then he had numerous supervisory positions with Amoco including operation supervisor and superintendent of operations as well as special assignments in Belgium, Spain and Taiwan. He transferred to Decatur in 1966 and

completed his career in 1995. Doug enjoyed fishing, golfing and friendships that he made during retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Evelyn Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay; two sons, Doug Chandler Jr. of Madison and Jeffrey Chandler (Beth Ann Rowell) of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Alyx Chandler, Zachary Douglas Chandler and James Douglas Chandler; three brothers, E.M. Chandler (Mary Jane) of Michigan, Clifford

Chandler of Texas and J.D (Karen) of Oklahoma.

Memorials can be sent to Mike Nix Preachers Fund at Beltline Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his golfing buddies
