Addie Lucille Cody, 81 years, three months and four days old, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born June 22, 1933, in Hamilton, Ala., to Eugene and Cornelia Rye Raper. She was a resident of the Meadows in Fulton and thoroughly enjoyed going to activities and loved the staff who cared for her daily. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and word searches.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Smith Lilley officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Linda Cody (Avis) Durham of Adamsville, TN, Dr. Rebecca Cody of Conway, SC, and Danny (Judy) Cody, Jimmy Cody, and Rhonda Cody (Tony) Crouch, all of Tremont; and two grandchildren, Melissa Wren (Dennis) Higdon, of Arab, AL, and Kevin Wren of Adamsville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Purvis Cody, who passed away in 2009; her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Leech.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bennett, Michael Turner, Jerry Booth, Billy Garrison, Gerry Lundy, and T. J. Adams.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Saturday, September 27, at the funeral home.
The family would like to especially thank The Meadows for the care given Mrs. Cody during her three-year stay.
