Billie Joyce “Bitt” Curtis Whitehead, 74, of Florence died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at ECM Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home from 12-2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Pastor Jay Martin officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
“Bitt” was a graduate of Coffee High School and Calhoun Community College where she received her degree in nursing. She was a retired nurse.
Mrs. Whitehead was the daughter of the late Grady and Bessie Curtis of Florence. She is also preceded in death by her husband Doys Whitehead; two sisters, Maryann Rogers and Carol Rainey.
Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her daughter, Tonya Thorn (Jonathan); two sons, William Whitehead (Melanie) and Donald Whitehead (Joanna); four grandchildren; one sister; two brothers.
Pallbearers will be James Rowden, Ronnie Jones, Ryan Miller, Eric Rowden, Patrick Curtis, and Bill Rainey.
