Jane Vest Free, 88, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Hartselle, November 13, 1925, to Walter and Birdie Vest. Mrs. Free was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth Free; sons, Ronald and Ricky Free; sister, Evelyn Shelton; and brothers, Malcolm and Donnie Vest.
Mrs. Free worked in food service at Decatur Inn, Holiday Inn, Burningtree Country Club and Cedar Ridge Golf Course. She also worked in child care at Central United Methodist Church and Central Park Baptist Church. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Michael Free (Angela); grandchildren, Preston Free, Bethany Terry, Samantha Free, Adam Gilbert, Allen Gilbert and Dustin Free; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Preston Free and Michael Sikes will officiate.
