Funeral service for Bobby Greene Tucker, age 81, of Decatur, will be Saturday, September 20, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dallas Culver officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tucker, who died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital, was born March 23, 1933, in St. Clair County to Hansel and Lina Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmie and Larry Tucker; and one sister, Gail Shear. Following a 37-year career as a government logistician, he retired from the Army Missile Logistics Command in 1988. He was a long time member of the Austinville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Callie Williams Tucker; one son, Geary Tucker (fiancée, Jennifer Hollis); one daughter, Patti Martin (Ken); two grandchildren, Tatum Martin and Tucker Martin; and three nephews, Greg Shear, Jeff Tucker, and Tommy Shear.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Tucker, Tommy Shear, Sonny Terry, Scott Anderson, Ken Nebrig, and Adron Davis. Greg Shear will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
