Alta Jane Rich Scott of Waynesboro, TN was born March 1, 1919 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Marion Harrison and Lydia Pearl Gillis Rich. She was united in marriage to Earl Scott and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1980.
Mrs. Scott was a homemaker .and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Scott departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2014at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 6 Months, 9 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Violet Robertson Taylor and husband, Don of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Vicki Mitchell and husband, Jim of Cleveland, TN and Jeff Robertson and wife, Tracy of Collinwood, TN; great-grandchildren, Jimmy Mitchell, Sara Mitchell Ballard, and Mia and Will Robertson;
brothers, T. F. Rich of Killen, AL and Carl Rich of Iron City, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by brothers, Orbie Rich, Arvil Rich, Joel Rich and sisters, Gladys Balentine, Nona Sandusky, Christine Patterson and Nina Brewer.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Nolan Burns and Sonny Bogus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.
