Natchez Trace Parkway Reports Driver Succumbs to Injuries Sustained in Crash

WAYNE COUNTY, TN – On Sunday, August 26, 2014, at 6:05 p.m., a 17 year old juvenile crossed the Parkway at an on-grade crossing and struck a trailer being towed by Thomas McAlister of Pulaski, TN, near mile marker 364.5. The impact caused McAlister’s truck to flip and strike a tree.  McAlister, age 69, suffered significant injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center via Vanderbilt Life Flight.  On September 6, 2014, Rangers were notified that McAlister, a retired Tennessee State Trooper, had passed away.   An autopsy is being requested to determine the cause of death.
