Gerald L. Davis, age 37 of McCalla unexpectedly passed on to Heaven on August 27, 2014 due to a heart attack. He was an ASE Master Mechanic at Express Oil and Meinke for many years. He was a fun loving, joking, kind hearted man eager to help others. He was an avid Tony Stewart fan and a devout supporter of the Tennessee Volunteers. He was a dirt track racer at Pleasant Valley and Wilsonville where he won many trophies.
Gerald was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Richard and Floy Mabry of Tennessee; his grandmother Maggie South of Birmingham, and his dad Joe Pierce McRee.
He is survived by his mother, Betty McRee, his brother Michael Davis, daughters Daytona Lane and Haley Rene’ Davis all of Birmingham, his uncles Fred South of Birmingham and Joe (Terry)South of Blountsville, Tom George Hohemwald and his soul mate Susie Carroll of TN. His cousins are Joe South Jr. and Kayla South of Birmingham and Craig Arazacrate, his nephew Logan Davis (his buddy) and special pet daughter Missy and many friends he enjoyed knowing.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday, September 01, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, September 01, 2014. Interment will follow at Fullers Chapel Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
Gerald would say to everyone be happy, love each other and GO VOLS!! Gerald, we will miss you and love you forever.
