Joseph Elmer Kurtz, 66, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at NMMC Hospice in Tupelo. He was born January 10, 1948 to the late William Adrian Kurtz and the late Letha Milner Kurtz. Joe worked as a roofer for several years and also for the City of Fulton. He was a member of the Community of Christ. He enjoyed bass fishing and looking for arrowheads. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a poet.
Services will be 2:00 pm on Sunday August 31, 2014 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Williams officiating.
Survivors include his Sisters: Mary Lou Thackrey of Mantachie, Judy Kay Hennessy of Fulton, Brothers: William Kurtz of Peoria, IL, Adrian Milner (Aletha) Kurtz of Paxton, IL, Charle Kurtz of Fulton, Larry Dean Kurtz of Fulton, Harry Gene (Nita) Kurtz of Iuka, IL, Jimmie Wayne (Pat) Kurtz of Fulton, and John Edward (Rosie) Kurtz of Kansas City, KS, also numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Sue Middleton.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm on Sunday until service time.
