Funeral service for Imogene Smithson, 81, will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smithson died on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1933, in Morgan County to Herman Leo Hopper and Hester Maze Hopper. She attended New Center Baptist Church and was a Teacher for Hartselle’s Head-Start Program. Mrs. Smithson loved quilting and sewing and used her talents for making dresses for overseas missions. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Smithson and her parents.
In lieu of flowers: make memorials to the New Center Baptist Church Missions Fund.
