Charles Larry Hemphill, 68 of Athens, Alabama died on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at his home.
Born Thursday, January 3, 1946, he was the son of the late James Francis Hemphill and the late Sue Ella Scott Hemphill. He was a lifelong resident of this area and loved gardening, fishing, and helping people in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son: Charles Lamar Hemphill.
Surviving are his wife: Marcia Crowl Hemphill of Athens, AL, brothers, James Douglas Hemphill of Madison, AL and Ricky Hemphill of Arab, AL, sister, Vera June Loy of Madison, AL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Dr. Al Long officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
