Rachel Hayes went home to be with our Lord, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her residence. Rachel was a kind loving and devoted mother. She was a member of Jackson Way Baptist Church for the past forty four years. She is survived by her husband James E. Hayes; daughter, Mary Maples Hall; son Edward Maples; step-daughters, Janice Hayes Huffine of Kiowa, Colorado and Annette Hayes Aubuchon of Huntsville, Alabama; step-son, James Lawrence Hayes of Bonifay, Florida; brothers, George Thomas Moon of Huntsville, Alabama and William Taylor Moon of Nashville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday at 10:00am at Berryhill Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Cassity, Reverend Mylon Metcalf and Rhonda Hayes officiating. There will be a private family burial at Bethel Cemetery in New Hope. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Village Home Care, Inc. P.O. Box 7245 Huntsville, Alabama 35807. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
