DECATUR-The Deactur Police received a call from the Morgan County E911 Center about a stabbing on 19th Avenue in Decatur. Here is how the Decatur Police describe events leading up to the arrest of one person in the stabbing incident:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
“On August 4th, 2014 at approximately 11:40 pm the Morgan County E911 Center received a call of a stabbing at the Busy Bee Market, located at 1010 19th Avenue Southeast. Multiple Units from the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, Officer Rutherford located Robert Lee White standing in the parking lot holding a box cutter. Officer Rutherford was able to detain White without incident.
After White was detained, Officers located the victim, Jaycen Irven who was suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations. Irven was transported from the scene to Huntsville Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
Detective Burleson with the Violent Crimes Unit was called to the scene to begin an investigation into the stabbing. At the conclusion of the investigation White was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree. He was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he will be held pending his bond being set.
At the time of this release Irven is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.”
