Billy Ray Pruitt Jr., 66, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday. Mr. Pruitt was a loving husband, father and Papa. After losing his legs he never complained and never stopped living each day to the fullest. His courage and strength amazed all of us. He found joy in his family, especially his grandchildren, Alabama football, classic cars and oldies music.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lacy Pruitt; daughters, Lacy Fitzpatrick (Kylan) and Lauren McCormick (Scott); sons, Adam Pruitt (Alison) and Billy Haley; brother, Roger G. Pruitt; and grandchildren, Cole Pruitt, Price Pruitt, Eleanor McCormick, Lawson McCormick and Collier Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with David Dill officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. (www.laughlinservice.com)
