Phyllis Kay Martinez, 65, of Medon
Mrs. Martinez passed away Friday night at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Bolivar, the daughter of the late Adam F. Brown, Jr. and Connie Mae Bryant Brown. Except for a short time that she lived in Illinois, Mrs. Martinez spent most all of her life in the Hardeman County area. On September 5, 2000, she was united in marriage to Mr. Rocky Martinez, who survives. She spent 25 years working for Thyssen-Krupp Elevators (Dover) before retiring as an assembler. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Middleburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she leaves 3 children, Connie Michele (Duane) Cochran of Huntsville, AL, Kirk Edward Medley of Medon and Stacey Lyn (Timothy) Lambert of Hickory Valley; 2 sisters, Gracie Allene Stone of South Fulton, TN and Wanda Jean Brown of Humboldt; 1 brother, Phillip Ray Brown of Jackson; 8 grandchildren, Steven Adam, Meagan Diane, John Zachary, Sarah Ann and Suelita Hope Cochran, Nicole Page Hill, Erin Brooke and Morgan Lynn Blancett; and 2 great-grandchildren, Braxton Lane Wilson and Brantley Ryder Cochran.
