On Sunday, July 20, 2014, loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend, died in her home in Sheffield after bravely battling Dementia-Alzheimer’s for ten years. Fondly known as “Nick,” she was a native of Colbert County and a graduate of Leighton Training School. She is survived by three children; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; two grandsons-in-law; two sisters; a brother; a sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a first cousin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, 7-8 p.m., at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Alabama. The funeral service for Mrs. Long will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
