Ewell Marvin Scott, Jr., 87, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Ewell met his wife, Clara Jo, in the University of Alabama band in the late 1940s and continued to enjoy music. He later pursued a career in engineering, working at NASA until retiring at age 67.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Clara Jo Scott; children, Ron Scott (Mary) of Corpus Christi, TX, Donna Knight (Curry) of Madison, and Melinda Bruer (Richard) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan Knight (Alyssa), Karen Harrison (Tom), David Knight, Joel Eaton, Daniel Knight and Clara Eaton; sister, Roverta Pitts (Morris) of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Pam Brown (Jerry) of Scottsdale, AZ and Pattie Marx (Joel) of Colorado Springs, CO; and nephew, Mark Pitts, of Colorado Springs, CO.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Bible Church, with the service immediately following at the church. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
