bevisElmer Earl Bevis, 71 of Tuscumbia, passed away July 17, 2014.
Visitation will be Saturday July 19, 20134 from 11-3pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services to begin at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel, burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother T.A. Duke, Brother Troy Fisher and Ernie Emmons are officiating.


Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Martha Johnson Bevis
Two sons, Kenny and wife Shannon, Kevin and wife Tammy.

Two grandsons, Hunter and Brent Bevis ,one granddaughter , Breanna Bevis, and one great-granddaughter, Braylee Bevis all of Tuscumbia.
Brother, Jim Bevis of Arab
Sisters, Mary Alice Pace and Sandy Lovelady both of Sheffield.

Pallbearers will be Mark Ware, Heath Ware, Carl Tubbs, Jim Johnston, Steve Lewis and Michael Darling. Honorary pallbearers will be Lanky Littrell, Jerry Littrell, Roy Littrell, Larry Cain and Ray Yocum

Mr. Bevis was a Barber for 42 years in Sheffield. He always said he loved his work, because he could see his friends and tell his stories about his fishing and hunting trips. After retiring, he worked over 20 years with his son Kenny and brother Larry at the barber shop.
Elmer and Martha owned and operated the Country Porch Restaurant in Sheffield for 12 years. He also enjoyed his work shop.

He was a member of Hook Street Baptist Church and enjoyed his hours with the small children on Sundays.
The Bevis family would like to thank Theresa Lango, Brian Richards and their staff for the caring and physical needs during his illness.
