Bobby Hill – Obituary

bobbyBobby Hill, 79, of Phil Campbell passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Keller Landing.  Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Elkins East Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lancaster officiating.  Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Killen.

 

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Bobby worked for the Army at Redstone Arsenal for over 30 years.  He then volunteered at ECM for 15 years.  He was a very avid Alabama Football fan,  a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was involved in several community organizations including the Civitans.

 

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Hill; stepchildren, Janice Sherrill (Alan) and great nephew Joshua Ogelsby and Jerry Latham; seven step-grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Henderson (Charles); special cousins, Betty, Dot, and Nell; and special friends, Jess and Jean Gorrell and family.

 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Edith Hill; niece Sharon and cousin Ann.

Special thanks are given to the staffs of Keller Landing and Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to Bobby.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Helping Hands Auxiliary.
