Emma Grace Terry Marlin, 94, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Countrywood Manor. She was born March 4, 1920, in Lee County to Ella Boren Terry and John Morgan Terry. She married Jack Marlin on Feb. 28, 1938, and their marriage lasted over 74 years. Mrs. Grace worked in the press department for Joyner Fields Manufacturing Company many years before leaving to help Jack raise three houses of chickens for Purnell Pride. She enjoyed cooking, taking pictures and visiting with family and friends. She had a contagious smile and showed respect and love for everyone. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She accepted Christ at an early age at Boguefala Baptist Church; but in later life, she was a regular at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church until health issues prevented her attending.
Services will be at 10 a. m. Friday, July 4, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Marshall Boyd and Bro. Terry Booker officiating. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Terry (Lila) Marlin of Mantachie; her daughter, Ima Beam of Mantachie; four grandchildren, Chris Marlin, Heather (Courtney) Humphries, and John Beam, all of Mantachie, and Sally (Aaron) Rodden of Conway, Ark.; one great-grandson, Parker Humphries of Mantachie; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Maloy of Georgia and Cliffie Marlin of Tennessee; and six nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Marlin, in 2012; her son-in-law, Norman Beam; three brothers, John, Milford, and Sam Terry; and four sisters, Luna Moon, Vera Comer, Mattie Hill, and Christine Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Chris Marlin, Greg Terry, Edward Terry, Courtney Humphries, Aaron Rodden, and Don Spradling.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Fawn Grove Cemetery Fund or your favorite charity.
