Morgan County Drug Task Force Execute Search Warrant….Two Arrested On Drug Charges

drugbusthartselle1HARTSELLE– On Wednesday, June 25, 2014 the Morgan county Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home in Hartselle. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin describes the events :

“Wednesday, June 25, 2014, the Morgan County Drug Task Force executed a Search Warrant at the residence located at 72 Lockhart Rd. in Hartselle, Al. Agents had been following up on tips and had received information that possible drug activity was occurring at the residence. Agents made contact with Charles Ray Key and Clifton Leroy Goodwin at the rear of the residence, in a small shed. Agents had learned that both subjects had been making drugbusthartselle2frequent purchases of Pseudoephedrine and had been advised that they were also purchasing Pseudoephedrine from other individuals. Agents executing Search Warrant located a One Pot Methamphetamine Laboratory as well as an HCL Gas Generator. Agents also located over approximately 1-oz. of liquid Methamphetamine, including equipment and chemicals associated in the Manufacturing process to produce Methamphetamine. Both subjects were decontaminated and transported to the Morgan County Jail.
Subjects- Charles Ray Key (w/m 39) and Clifton Leroy Goodwin (w/m 53) were charged with the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Methamphetamine and for the Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia.

Bonds for each set as follows: Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine – $500,000.00, Trafficking in Methamphetamine- $5,000.00 and for the Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia $2,500.00. Bonds totaling $507,500.00. Bond set per Circuit Court Judge Glenn Thompson.”
