joyceMr. Joyce R. Cummings, 90, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mr. Cummings was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII, during which he served as a paratrooper, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was formerly employed for thirty-five years at Reynolds Metals, where he worked as a security guard. He was also a lifelong farmer, and loved taking care of his horses and dogs. He also enjoyed hunting. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers include Gerald Glidewell, Tim Gaines, Jonathan Jones, Glen Cummings, Peyton Cummings, Ricky Cummings, Nicky Cummings, and Terry Lambert. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Dudgar Patrick Cummings; one daughter, Elaine Pyle; one granddaughter, Regina Pyle Ahmad and husband, Asif; and three great-grandchildren, Logan Lambert, Sierra Lambert, and Cypress Lambert, all of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mabel Robinson Cummings; a granddaughter, Angela Pyle Lambert; a brother, James Cummings; two sisters, Mary Laura Sparks and Martha Strickland; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Pyle.
