Charles “Jesse” Hutchens, age 59, of Florence, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 3, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with special speaker and lifelong friend David Fuller officiating. Burial will be at Piney Grove Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Mae Bogus, brother Joey Hutchens, and son-in-law, Anthony Skelton. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Dowdy Hutchens; daughters, Vicki Skelton (Shannon Patterson), Christy Smith (Jerrel), Jessica Rumble (Benji), and Chasity Hutchens; father Charles Hutchens (Helen); sister, Tammy Burt; grandchildren, Jonathan Averill, Cody Skelton, and Presley, Brookley, and Briley Smith. Jesse was a certified master technician, I-CAR and ASE certified. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He brightened the day of everyone he met. Pallbearers will be life long friends, Steve Horton, Larry Bevis, Johnny Miles, Jamie Miles, Joey Wood, Drew Brock, and Ken Uding. The family would like to express appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.
