Alma Corine Davidson, 92, a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, passed away May 30, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a special wife to her late husband, the Rev. W.J. Davidson of whom they shared fifty-three years of marriage. Alma was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. W.J. Davidson; infant son, Donnie Ray Davidson; parents, William G. and Eliza Mae Thornton; brothers, W.G. Thornton, Jr., Ken A. Thornton; granddaughters, Yolanda Nunnery and Marsha Davidson; son-in-law, Jay Nunnery.
She is survived by her sons, Troy (Carol) Davidson, Percy (Peggy) Davidson, Stephen Davidson; daughter, Wanda Nunnery; sisters, Faydean (Ed) Whitten, Janie (Reggie) Bruce all of Florence; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Reggie Bruce, Paul Crawford, Jimmy Long, Tommy Simmons, Ricky Thornton, and Randle Whitten.
Honorary pallbearers will include Coy Cannon, Andy Eddins, Wendall Hutcheson, Jimmy Patterson, Kenneth Putman, and Dan Richardson.
The family wishes to give special thanks to caregivers Janice Baskins and Brenda Forbs.
