Malcolm (Mack) Lewis Fenn of Florence, Alabama, passed away on May 31, 2014, at ECM Hospital. He was born in New Market, Alabama, on December 10, 1920. He was a charter member of Eastwood Church of Christ.
Visitation for Mr. Fenn will be Monday June 2, 2014 from 10 – 12 noon at Eastwood Church of Christ with the funeral service beginning at 12 noon. Officiating will be Charles Kretzer and Sonny Owens. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years and mother of his children, Mary Walton Fenn; parents Edgar Leander and Mary Esther Orrick Fenn; brothers and wives Edd (Nadine) and James (Mildred) Fenn; sister-in-law and husband Doris Walton (Cecil) Hargett; two nephews Steve Fenn and Bobby Hargett all of Florence, Alabama.
Mr. Fenn is survived by his second wife of 18 years, Verna Lou Fenn of Florence, Alabama; his two daughters Angie Fenn (Stan) Holt of Killen, Alabama and Janice Fenn (Joel) Peeden of Florence, Alabama; four grandchildren Jeffrey (Ashley) Peeden of Madison, Alabama; Julie Holt (Brandon) Childers of Florence, Alabama; Benjamin (Sheena) Holt of Killen, Alabama, and Jonathan (Erin) Peeden of Pearl, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Alexander Peeden of Madison, Alabama; Aubrey, Ariel and great grandson-to-be
James Logan Childers of Florence, Alabama. He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fenn served as First Class Shipfitter in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-1945. He retired from TVA as a steamfitter with 37 years of service and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #760. He loved sharing his favorite Bible verses from God’s word with
others–Acts 2:38, Matthew 6:33, and Luke 6:38. He enjoyed sharing his home grown tomatoes, peppermints, and Werthers with others. He enjoyed Godfather’s Taco Pizza, Newbern’s catfish, Singleton’s BBQ, and watching the Atlanta Braves.
Grandsons and nephews, John Hargett, David Fenn, and Eric Fenn will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Williams, Dan Beavers, Joe Dale Harris, the Elders and Deacons of Eastwood Church of Christ.
The family appreciates Dr. Mann for his many years of dedicated care of Mack.
