He leaves us to join many who have gone before him, now waiting to embrace him and welcome him home. There are many things that could be said about this kind man. He suffered great pain that many never knew about, yet he stayed sweet and kind throughout his life. He was a very generous and giving man. He provided shelter for many homeless people and numerous foster children. He was loved and respected.
“Weep not for me though I am gone into the gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul’s sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul’s at rest, there is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed. For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not, the fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts, in your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death, but CELEBRATE my life.” (Author unknown)
Many thanks to the Glenwood Pallative Care unit. The love and compassion from Dr. Webb, the nurses, and nurse aids of all three shifts will always be appreciated.
