Mr.Billy Sandal Godfrey age 95 of Centre passed away Saturday May 31 at Redmond Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Godfrey will be 1: PM Monday June 2nd at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Dr. George Cobb officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Howell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 11: AM until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers are Scott Godfrey, Jimmy St Clair, Jamie Davis, Matthew Mc Hugh, Wayne Brewer, Richard Lindsey, and Tommy Joe Willis.
Mr. Godfrey is survived by his Sister Katie Jo Tucker of Chattanooga and several Nieces and Nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife Corabelle Godfrey.
Mr. Godfrey was a native of Cherokee County the Son of the late George and Pearl Popham Godfrey.
Billy was a retired educator, and former member of the Cherokee County Board of Education. He served his Country during World War II as a United States Marine and was a member of the Marine Corps League. Mr. Godfrey was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
