TUSCUMBIA – Most folks from these parts have heard about stampedes, but until Thursday night… pretty much nobody had seen one . It was a parade right down the center of town. But this time the horses and riders, along with about a hundred head of cattle came first in the parade followed by the tractors and trucksย and scooters. The reversal of the order made for some interesting attempts at dodging certain artifacts from the cattle. But that’s neither here nor there.
The event was the opening act of a two day rodeo named for one of Tuscumbia’s Favorite Sons, Harvey Robbins, who passed away last year. Lots of folks turned out for the “stampede” and the Quad-Cities Daily was on hand to record the parade in EVENT PHOTOS.
We present them here. If you see a picture that you like, feel free to make yourself a print. It costs nothing!
