Dr. Rachelle McGregor Scissum, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Friday in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores McGregor Chunn. She was a member of the Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Before moving to Louisville, KY, she was an Associate English Professor at Alabama A&M University and UAH University. She was a member of Phillips C.M.E. Church until her relocation in 2002.
Her survivors include one daughter, Shayla Scissum Branch; son-in-law, Erik Branch; and two grandsons, Jordan and Jaxson.
Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Northwest Church of Christ, Huntsville, AL.
