Mary Edith Thompson Stewart – Obituary

Funeral service for Mary Edith Thompson Stewart, 72, of Hartselle will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Thompson, Bro. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Bro. Robert Sparkman officiating. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stewart died on May 6, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born January 21, 1942, in Morgan County to Earl Thompson and Ona Vest Thompson. Mrs. Stewart retired as an assembler from Prestolite. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Heritage Choir. She was also a graduate of Eva High School, class of 1961. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry A. Stewart; her stepfather, Archie Rhodes; and one niece, Janet Parker Lewis. 

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Nell Parker of Hartselle; two nieces, Doris Thrasher of Hartselle and Jodie McCormick and her husband, Kenny, of Danville; great- nephews, Justin Linderman and his wife, Jordan, of Ohio, Jacob Linderman and his wife, Ashley, of Hartselle, Jonathan Thrasher of Hartselle and Cody McCormick of Danville; one great-niece, Dallas “Allie” Thrasher of Hartselle; four great- great-nephews, Jasper, Landon, Noah and Wyatt Linderman; and one great-great-niece, 

Carly Jo Thrasher.

Pallbearers will be Ray Crabtree, Randy Green, Doug Vest, Vance Vest, Owen Parker and Jack Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Linderman, Jacob Linderman, Jonathan

Thrasher, Dallas Thrasher and Cody McCormick.
