Willie A. (Billie) Clowers Miller age 87, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Decatur, Alabama home she had shared for 2 years with her daughter, Lisa.
Mrs. Miller was born June 27, 1926 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi to Dolphus Dwight Clowers and Ella May Hill Clowers. She was a hard working home-maker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Joe Miller Jr.; her brother, Marvin Clowers and her sister, Annie Boyce Clowers Bridgman.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Miller Cagle, 4 nieces, 4 nephews and many grand nieces & nephews and great grandnieces & nephews. She developed extra close relationships as sitter for Beth Tutor, her grand niece and Susan Cagle, her son-in-law, Monty Cagle’s sister.
Until her final two-week illness, she never lost interest in reading, bird watching, seeking out beautiful flowers and trees and being with her cats and the people she loved. Throughout her life she was known for her selflessness, her compassion, her great cooking and wise advice, and her love of conversation. She was a lifelong Baptist but respected all religions.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Algoma Baptist Church in Algoma, Mississippi with the funeral service to follow at 3:00pm at the Church with the Rev. Don Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens Cemetery with her family members serving as pallbearers.
