Magdalene Tillery, 86, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Thursday, March 8, 1928 in Ardmore, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Lyra Hogan and the late Myrtle Pylant Hogan. She was preceded in death by husband, John Elbert Tillery and brother, John Ross Hogan.
She was a lifelong resident of Ardmore and was owner of Tillery’s Beauty Salon in Ardmore, TN for forty years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ardmore, AL and she enjoyed needle point crafts.
Surviving are daughter, Jennifer (Danny) Banks, Huntsville, AL.; son, Johnny Wayne Tillery, Elkton, TN; three grandchildren, Jonathan Todd Tillery, Samuel Kane Walls, Page Ann Banks; one great grandchild, Mason Tillery.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Alan Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon up until time of service at
2:00 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
The family request that donations may be made to: First Baptist Church of Ardmore and/or the Misfits Sunday School Class at 26670 5th Street, Ardmore, AL.
