Funeral service for Max E. King age 85 of Hartselle will be Monday, May 5, 2014 at 11:00am at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward King officiating with burial in the Roselawn Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 9:30am until service time on Monday.
Mr. King, who was born on November 20, 1928 in Morgan County to Gaston P. King and Goldie Mae Minor King, died on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was a member of the Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ and retired after 31 years of service as the Manager of the Hartselle Electric Board. Max loved to fish and hunt and was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Juanita King, a daughter; Maxine Tapscott, by 4 brothers; Dewitt, Leonard, Martin and Thomas and by 2 sisters; Dorothy Miller and Nell Bailey.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Sandra Keel (Dewain) of Hartselle and Carol Maples (Avery) of Trinity, by 2 brothers; Conrad King (Geraldine) of Hartselle and Wayne King of Mt. Hope, 4 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Doug Keel, Danny Faulk, Gary Shaneyfelt, Gary Lorance, Kenny Sharrott and Jonathan Hampton, his former city employees; will serve as his pallbearers.
Grandsons and Nephews will be Honorary Pallbearers
