Funeral service for Truman Screws, 91, will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Keenum and Rev. Wally Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Cullman County. Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Screws died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 1, 1922, in Cullman County to Thomas S. Screws and Mattie Ann (Dukes) Screws. Mr. Screws served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was a lifetime educator; being a teacher, a coach and a principal. He served as the Morgan County Superintendent of Education working from 1979 until his retirement in 1983.

his Wife, Jean (Stricklin) Screws, Hartselle, AL

One Son:
Greg Screws, Huntsville, AL

One Daughter:
Vicki Jeffreys (Roger), Hartselle, AL

Two Grandchildren:
Courtney White Greene, (Jacob) and
Emily Screws Roberts, (Tyler)

Two Step-Grandchildren:
Lendy Jeffreys Hancock, (Mike) and
Leslie Jeffreys Dawson, (Lonnie)

Two Great Grandchildren:
Rhett Roberts and
Will Greene

Five Step-Great Grandchildren:
Chase Hancock, (Brandi),
Abbie Hancock,
Matt Hancock,
Alex Dawson and
Makenzie Dawson

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Union Hill High School Class of 1962.
