Funeral service for Onnis Lee Standridge, 84, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at noon at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Posey officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Standridge, who died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at his residence, was born January 7, 1930, in Lawrence County to John W. Standridge and Nora Hayes Standridge. He was a member of Austinville Church of Christ. Mr. Standridge enjoyed working in his garden, attending antique car and tractor shows with his sons, and attending football games with his daughter. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends in the North Alabama Antique Tractor Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Christine Barnes Standridge; two sons, Gregg Standridge (Lynn Griffith) of Decatur and Chris Standridge (Diana) of Toney; one daughter, Ann Coggins (Pierre) of Decatur; one sister, Nancy Horan of Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh Standridge, Jim Halbrooks, A.D. Halbrooks, Ronnie Lewis, Steve Lewis, Conrad Bell and Dwight Bowling.
