Lawrence Coleman Duvall (Larry) – Obituary

Lawrence Coleman Duvall (Larry), 76, of Huntsville passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014.  Larry was a resident of Huntsville for the past 34 years.   He was an active member of Whitesburg Baptist Church and Gideon’s International. Larry was born on 17 June, 1937 in Franklin County, Kentucky.   After High School, Larry entered the US Air Force in 1955 and served in Southeast Asia from 1972-1973. He retired from the AF in 1975 and after completing college went to work for the US Army as a civil servant until 1999 and then retired with over 40 years of government service. He was predeceased in death by an older brother:  James Earl Duvall. Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Greta Eslinger Allen Duvall; four children:  James Lawrence Duvall, Timothy Lynn Duvall, April Duvall Zink, all of the Huntsville area and Charlotte Allen Kent of Naples, FL; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.    He is also survived by his brother:  George William Duvall of Danville, KY, and a sister:  Lois Duvall Sullivan of Lawrenceburg, KY. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Whitesburg Baptist Church followed by the funeral at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Gideon’s International East Camp, P.O. Box 18156, Huntsville, Al 35804-8156.
