Eldon Eugene Shannon, 63, of Hazel Green, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father Eldon Shannon and his brother Ray Woosley. Mr. Shannon was retired from the Alabama State Troopers. Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife, Kathyrn J. Shannon; two sons, Eldon B. Shannon and Chass E. Shannon; daughter, Amy Williams; mother, Ruby Pruitt (Robert); step-mother, Faye Shannon; three brothers Charles Shannon, Chester Shannon and Ronnie Woosley; four sisters, Debbie Shannon, Regina Armstrong, Yvette Anderson and Veronica Ervin; four grandchildren, Katlynn, Connor, Kayla Shannon and Carlee Campbell, and great grandson D.J. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday, at 11:00am at Berryhill Funeral Home with P.T. Smith and Drew Westrope officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Eldon Shannon Benefit Fund at any Redstone Federal Credit Union Branch. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
