Clyde Harrison Ruth, 77 of Athens passed away at his home surrounded by his family on the morning of Tuesday, April 8, 2014. He was born November 21, 1936 in Hardin Co., TN to Wm. Morgan Ruth and Anna Belle Hopper Ruth.
The funeral will be 2 pm on Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Boyles officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Ruth was a 23 yr. Veteran of the United States Air Force, who served honorably in Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Ruth; grandson, Matthew Ruth; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Woodruff and Jane Rae Brown; brother, Ward Ruth.
He is survived by his son, Darren Ruth and wife, Sherry; daughter, Katrina Smith and husband, Michael all of Athens; daughter, Shelia Carter and husband, David; two sons, Randy Ruth and wife, Rose and Dana Ruth and wife, Bonnie all of TN; grandchildren, Hayden Ruth of Athens, Christie Tobey and husband, Rusty, Wesley Carter, Nick Ruth and wife, Melissa, Phillip Ruth and Casey Ruth all of TN; great-grandchildren, Amber Tobey, Breanna Tobey, Josalyn Ruth Garret Ruth, Madison Ruth and Briley Ruth all of TN; one great-great-grandchild, Kenzie Tobey; two brothers, Marshall “Swain” Ruth and wife, Helen, Larry Ruth of TN; two sisters, Martha Gary, Margie Craig of TN; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Ruth, Hayden Ruth, Nick Ruth, Phillip Ruth, Phillip McMahan, Wesley Carter and Chris Southard. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Green and BJ Kennedy.
