Funeral for Jenny Bennett Berry, 62, of Decatur will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle with Rev. Robert H. Sparkman, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
Jenny was born Jan. 2, 1952 in Morgan County to Jimmie Stewart Bennett and Esther Jane Davidson Bennett of Hartselle. She passed away April 4, 2014 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Berry.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura Berry Michael and Lucy Berry DeButy (husband Charlie); three sons, Jeffrey Stewart Berry (wife Maria), Larry Wayne Berry, Jr., and John Berry (wife Carrie); two sisters, Jane Bennett and Judy Odom; one brother, John Bennett; and six grandchildren, Katherine Michael, John Michael, Charles Michael, Gabriela Gonzales, Jack Berry, and Chase Berry, with a seventh expected in July.
A devoted mother, sister and friend, Jenny worked as a nurse at Huntsville Hospital and later co-founded Berry Plumbing Company with her late husband in Savannah, Ga. She graduated from Morgan County High School in 1970 and soon after earned her nursing degree from Calhoun Community College.
Jenny loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and always placed the needs of others before her own. She was always willing to go above and beyond for the betterment of her children. Her wit, wisdom and compassion for others will be greatly missed by those she left behind on Earth.
