John Bunyan Cole, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. John was born on Sept. 25, 1937, to the late Ella Baily Cole and John B. Cole, Sr., and grew up in Killen, Alabama.
John was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 54 years, Rosie Langham Cole; four children, Christopher Cole, M.D., Dwight Cole, Florence, Ala., Felicia Jones, Meridianville, Ala., Malcolm (Jackie) Cole, Harvest, Ala.; four grandchildren, Samone Jones, Paige Jones, Jocelynn Cole and Willie Cole Jones (CJ); one sister, Ruth Tyler, Waukegan, Ill.; four brothers, Wilberforce Cole (Georgia) Killen, Ala., Calvin Cole (Jean), Paul Cole (Annie) and Clarence Cole (Mattie), Sheffield, Ala.; five sisters-in-law, Frances Tuner, Town Creek, Ala., Joyce (Leonard) White, Leighton, Ala., Laverta Cal, Cassandra Burt, Chicago, Ill., Barbara Burt, Madison, Tenn., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, 6-8 p.m., Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, Ala.
Funeral service for Mr. Cole will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Florence Boulevard Church of Christ, Florence, Ala., with Brother James Gray officiating.
The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Burial in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, Ala.
Public viewing will be Monday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, is directing.
