Susan “Tooter” Ivey, 48, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at noon, with Alvin Thigpen officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Bobby and Betty Ivey, of Florence; three children, Tonya Brown and husband, Dennis, of Florence, Danny Ivey and wife, Heather, of Florence, Donnie Ivey and wife, Jenny, of Florence; three grandchildren, Karleigh Ivey, Emma Brown and Erin Keller; three sisters, Ann Littleton and husband, James, of Florence, Brenda Cook and husband, Joey, of Moulton, Betty Hinton and husband, B.J., of Florence; three brothers, Larry Ivey and wife, Brenda, of Florence, John Ivey and wife, Pam, of Florence, and Samuel “Bo” Ivey, of Florence; 22 nieces and nephews; and lots of friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis Ivey, Mr. Bob Frost, Mrs. Edith Mae Melton, and niece, Tiffany Ann Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Littleton, Andrew Littleton, Nick Roberson, Kevin Barnes, Justin Phillips and Josh Frost.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the State Troopers, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department and Central and Cloverdale volunteer fire departments.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association .
