Mr. Homer Boyd Umphrey, age 90 of Huntsville, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. A native of Cullman County, he has lived in the Huntsville area for 54 years. He served his country during World War II in the US Army and was a member at University Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sybil Ann (Hildreth) Umphrey.
He is survived by his son, Deryl Umphrey, Granddaughter, Jessica Umphrey, Grandson, Cameron Umphrey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 8:00PM Friday. A service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at University Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Faith Memorial Park in Madison, AL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reformed University Fellowship for Cameron Umphrey.
