Funeral for Noel Owen Jr., 87, of Courtland will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Scottie Letson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Owen, who died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Tut Fann Veterans Home, was born December 18, 1926, to the late Noel Owen Sr. and Lula Terry Owen. He retired as a salesman and USDA inspector. Mr. Owen was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. He loved to shoot pool and play golf. He was a singer and songwriter with a beautiful tenor voice.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Owen; two sons, Danny Owen of Huntsville and Keith Owen of Courtland; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Courtland Baptist Church.
