kevinKevin Lee Crites, 48, of Hazel Green passed away Monday at a local hospital. Kevin was a native of Cumberland, MD and a resident of Madison County for the past 5 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, was a Metrologist with ERC at Marshall Space Flight Center and was a active member of the Patriot Guard Riders. Kevin was a loving father, husband and brother and loved hunting, fishing and his Pittsburgh Steelers. Survivors include his wife of 24 years: Katherine M. Crites; his precious daughter: Megan Ashlee Crites; his mother: Mildred L. Crites; two sisters: Brenda Wilson and Cheryl Cernetich; one brother: Robert Crissey; three nieces: Kelly Cernetich, Emily Simmons and Gabriael Simmons; four nephews: Adam Crites, Bryan Crites, Robison Cernetich and Robert Crissey; a number of great-nieces and great- nephews and two special friends: Mike Robeson and Mark Wharton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Turbeville officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Kevin Crites Memorial Fund for his daughter’s education at Redstone Federal Credit Union, 1-800-234-1234.
