William “Chub” Winstead, 68, Phil Campbell, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Helen Keller Hospital. The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Spry Memorial. Officiating at the service will be Bro. James McCullar and Bro. Tony Williams. Burial will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Dorothy Winstead; children, Greg Winstead, Deborah Brownell (husband, Lee); grandchildren, Shelby, Chloe; siblings, Delano Winstead, Audrey O’Kelley, Mazel Saint (Paul); host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zacky & Lorine Winstead; siblings, Alfred, Melvin, David, Doug, Velma, and Ann.
The pallbearers will be Hershel O’Kelley, Stevie Motes, Tony Saint, Cody Fisher, Joe Cothrum, Tim McLemore, and Donald “Bender” Lydic.
